Take a trip to the island of Dr Moreau
Yorkshire Sculpture Park Open-air and Longside Gallery. 24 May - 2 November 2008
Sophie Ryder's association with YSP started in 1986, with a residency immediately after graduating from the Royal Academy. This significant exhibition provides an opportunity to examine her work of the last decade alongside new pieces.
Her work examines the human condition through anthropomorphic and dream imagery, combining animal and human forms, attitudes and instincts.
Visitors to the park, near Wakefield will be able to take in the weird and wonderful wire sculptures of this internationally acclaimed, figurative artist.
Admission to see this unique and unusual exhibition is free, so be sure to stop by and take it in.
A catalogue with images of work in situ and text by Independent and New Statesman critic, Sue Hubbard, accompanies the exhibition.
