Speed Racer is a film vying to reach the dizzying heights of adaptation success.
This Wachowski brothers' spectacle, based on the classic anime series by Tatsuo Yoshida, is the story of a young man with natural racing talent.
Speed Racer (clever that), played by Emile Hirsch, dreams of winning a cross-country car rally that claimed the life of his older brother; juggling family and girlfriend misdemeanours as well as corruption along the way which threaten to scupper his chances.
Leading up to the release of the film on May 9th, the 'Speed Racer Pit Stop Tour,' will be visiting Tesco stores across the country.
As well as an introduction to the film and the Nintendo Wii videogame, this event will feature the new Fuji Helexicon track racing set where attendees will have the opportunity to test their racing ability against each other for the chance to win exclusive medals and a family holiday to Daytona – the home of international speedway.
