The supermarket shelves are lined with pumpkins, kids wearing white sheets are constantly banging on your door, horror flicks dominate the television.

Long have Leodians mourned the passing of the Town and Country Club. How we pined for a proper big venue to watch proper big bands. Now, thanks to some doubtless occultist meddling, we've got our wish. Back from the dead, on the old site, is the new Leeds Academy. Fittingly, the Kaiser Chiefs will re-launch the venue, plugging their forthcoming third album, 'Off With Their Heads'.

Could there be a more fitting place to spend a pre-Halloween October night than at a place with a huge devil's head above the door? If the grand opening of the new Academy is too much of a tug on the purse-strings, why not try this free live music event? Music is provided by local indie/rock band, Paramedic Andy. Handy.
