Cinemascope
Broadway Cinema and Media Centre
14–18 Broad Street
(0115) 952 6611
Because the independent Broadway Cinema offers two screens, good world cinema, film-based talks, and media courses, its café bar has always been a honey pot for the arties in town, who are rarely seen there without their G5 Apple notebooks and camcorders. Don't let the fear of being caught on some budding filmmaker's debut put you off though. If you're going along for the Broadway Bite, and film and main meal deal, get there early, as it can be a rather cosy crush at the bar.
Times and prices vary.

If you are lucky enough be to in Nottingham and have 20 friends willing to stick around for the evening, this place is ideal for a private film show. Provided, that is, they're showing something you actually want to see, which is likely, as they don't screen any of the mainstream stuff. You'll also need to stump up £125 in hard cash between you as they don't accept cards. If you're all still speaking when the film's over, you've a choice of several lively bars on the same street, most of them open until the wee hours.
