Harry Ramsdens
Ahhh, fish & chips – a 'Great British Tradition'. But as downing several pints and getting into a fight on a Saturday night shows us, tradition does not automatically imply greatness. Now, let's be clear here, fish & chips are great, awesome in fact, there is no substitute. Harry Ramsdens however is guff. The daily droves of old dears visiting here are not a good yardstick with which to gauge the quality of the food by. Why? Because their taste buds packed up years ago. Their weekly outing to "'arrys" is just routine. In the cold light of day – cold being the operative word – it's all a bit mediocre – your best bet is to get down to your local chippy and get the works for less than 4 squid. Squid – that's a fish! – See what I've done there? –
