One of Leeds' firm favourites – it's been around since 1992 –, many places try – and fail – to compete with its cosmopolitan menu. It also manages to stay on the right side of up–its–own–arse making it a fine choice for special occasions. The food and service are both top dollar, but the prices match the heady days of Wall Street, with a dish such as Dover sole weighing in at a princely £25. It's a shame because the atmosphere isn't snooty at all, which is what makes most top class restaurants an absolute nightmare. This doesn't go unnoticed, as this place is rarely without custom, so be sure to always book ahead –there's often a queue to shell out one's savings.
