La Tasca

It's such a simple idea that it's surprising that no one thought of it before, but La Tasca's brand of cheering us up by recreating the Spanish tavernas from holidays past seems to work really well. It's popular with large groups and you don't have to book, hence everyone crams round a large table to enjoy all sorts of tapas. It really is a case of the more the merrier, as by ordering a multitude of dishes that are pretty reasonable, eventually it works out that what one person loathes, someone else will love. Everyone gets well fed and has a good time –as clear an expression of utopian socialism in dining as you could hope for.
