Leeds' first café bar and probably still the best, Art's stands out as a true gem amongst a city of samey style bars and weird old men's boozers. A café by day providing chilled–out surroundings for a quick coffee and a gossip or lunchtime feed – the lunchtime plates for a fiver are fantastic, and a bargain –, and a restaurant by night where you'll find a small but impressive menu ideal for wooing prospective partners or groveling to the parents. The real beauty of this place though is the local artwork exhibited on the wall that changes every month or so, get the inside track on the artists from the staff and then show off loudly about how cultured you are.
