Angel Inn, The

Tucked away down a back alley in the heart of the city, The Angel is a cosy and lively affair tastefully decked out and impeccably clean. Being a Sam Smiths pub, the bar is geared towards proper pub drinking and features a bevy of hand–pulled ales. Southerners and girls are humoured with a wide range of alcopops and wine. Everybody's happy. The food's good, if a tad basic, but it's a pub not a bloody restaurant. A prime stop–off for a breather during a shopping spree, with plenty of outside seating for drinking al fresco come the summer, like what they do on the continent.
