The trains might not be up to much but the link between London and Leeds is as strong as ever with this impressive display of food, drink and architecture. Northern Light is the sister bar to Shoreditch's E1 The Light – lauded by the likes of Alexander McQueen – and is utterly impressive. Sink into its classy environs and tuck into some spot on locally sourced organic/modern British fare: lunchtime deli skewer wraps are excellent. You'll instantly feel like the pop star you might have been if you hadn't been born to a pair of layabout wasters from Meanwood. Drown your sorrows in the swanky bar/club afterwards –it's open 'til 2am.
