Yorkshire Sculpture Park

500 acres of 18th century parkland packed full of modern and contemporary art, most of it large enough to save you from being involuntarily cryogenically frozen by shielding you from Leeds' typically blustery weather. A day here thus makes a good windy break and way to break wind when you're feeling arty farty. Even if your knowledge of sculptures isn't your trump card, the park itself is a scenic paradise. Take a picnic, head down to the lake, and enjoy the beauty you never even knew was there. It will blow you away.
