Kirkstall Abbey

This whole area of Kirkstall belongs in everyone's summer Itinerary. If you're not wandering through the museum finding out about what people used to do before working in offices Monday to Friday and spending the weekend in a state of alcoholic coma, then take a stroll around the Abbey itself. We found that the best way to appreciate this beautiful old building was to bring a barbie, pitch up next to the river and burn, baby, burn. Fill your belly, have a few beers in the sunshine and pretend to be knights and harlots for the afternoon. 'How dare you, good sir, I'll do nothing of the sort.'
