Strawberry Fields

When Itchy was in sixth form, a double here cost £1.10. And it's not gone up that much since then. Despite recent (sadly failed) attempts to go down the bistro path, this character-driven Leeds institution is still widely known as the best place to drink cheap absinthe until you fall over. The traditional quirky decorative touches are still in place, with several murals that look like they were painted by people on day release, including the vaguely unnerving Scouse sheep that ask you to 'calm down calm down' as you climb the stairs. What they should be saying is 'Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going down...'
